Episode 74 – TV Character Deaths

Lori Grimes Death Demotivator

It seems like not that long ago, the characters on our favorite TV shows were untouchable.  Sure, most have been far from infallible, some not even remotely likable, but they definitely seemed to be somewhat immortal.  Then, one day, writers go this great idea that killing important characters in dramatic fashion wasn’t just good entertainment, but good story-telling, so the fans could cray all they wanted, because, you know… ratings!  Join us this week as we discuss some (but definitely not all) of the TV show character deaths that have made a lasting impact on us, the viewers.  Grab you box of tissues, play some sad background music, and maybe even get some confetti poppers ready as we talk TV character deaths on a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!

Wii U Review – Part 1

MarioWii

This month I turned the big 3-0.  To combat my feelings of getting utterly old, I decided to buy myself an early birthday gift.  So on New Year’s Eve I finally broke down and bought a shiny new Wii U.  Like many people my age, I’ve been a huge fan of Nintendo since my childhood.  Jumping on goombas, shooting virtual ducks, and unearthing hidden tunnels with bombs was just part of growing up.  While I don’t necessarily play that many video games these days, anytime Nintendo releases something new, I get that excitement that brings me back to sitting on the floor of my grandma’s living room playing my NES for hours on end.  Having spent some time with the new console, I wanted to toss out my thoughts on the system and some of its features.

Episode 61 – Gaming With Friends vs. Strangers

Gaming as a hobby and the experiences it brings can swing from one end of the spectrum to the other.  Be it tabletop RPGs, online gaming, or a good old-fashioned roundabout with a board game, there are always inherent pros and cons when it comes to living the gamer lifestyle (or life in general).  We here at To-Ag Studios have been fortunate to have maintained a core gaming group, but what’s a solitary gamer to do when a local group isn’t available?  Join us this week as we discuss the process of gaming with strangers and offer our insights on how both enjoy the positive experiences as well as survive the not so positive ones.  So, pop those social anxiety pills, make sure your PING is decent, and definitely DON’T smell like cold-cuts and prepare yourself for a new episode of Monkey in the Cage.

A is for Apple (Registered Trademark)

Photograph by Matthew Farrant

Last week, I mentioned that my 21 month old is quite adept at using the family iPad. The little guy even knows how to do this “swipey thing” to move between open apps.  I don’t even know how to do the “swipey thing” and when I lament that fact while begging him to show me how he’s doing it, he just slyly laughs.  Seriously, he has his father’s sense of humor which tells me I am doomed to a lifetime of being picked on by both of them.

While we are on the subject of apps I’ve decided to share my toddler’s (and my) favorite apps for little ones.
