Well, we actually managed to do it! We got half of the Monkeys to Gen Con 2013 to represent the podcast, and not only was it “The best four days in gaming,” it was likely to be the best four days of the entire year! Matt and Robert packed up their dice, grabbed all their cash, and shipped out some recording equipment to bring the MITC community a special episode straight from Gen Con, complete with special guests and fellow gamers Kevin and Sarah Smith! So, butch up on your 80’s action flicks, make some room in your luggage, and prepare for a whole shuttle full of teh awesome as you get ready to listen to a brand new, limited edition, foil wrapped episode of Monkey in the Cage!

Another year, another pilgrimage to Geek Mecca. San Diego Comic-Con came, saw, and conquered just like it does every year, and while none of us here at To-Ag studios were actually able to secure a pass to the convention floor (believe us, it’s difficult, frustrating, and expensive), we still did our best to be present and soak up the geeky goodness we could. Join us this week as we discuss our experiences and some awesome geek news to come out of SDCC 2013! Shine up your cutlass, practice playing Rock Band, and drink some of whatever Wayne Brady’s having as you get ready for a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
Gen Con 2013 is just around the corner, and I’m already losing sleep from the building excitement. Making it to Gen Con has been high on my gamer bucket list for close to two decades and in only a few short months, I’ll finally get to experience the geektastic event that is “the best four days in gaming.” Event registration was a little over a week ago, and while I didn’t get into every event I had hoped for, I was actually surprised I made it into the majority. Here’s a quick run-down of my Gen Con schedule for Thursday August 15th, which includes the event description and my first impressions of what lies in store.
It seems like not that long ago, the characters on our favorite TV shows were untouchable. Sure, most have been far from infallible, some not even remotely likable, but they definitely seemed to be somewhat immortal. Then, one day, writers go this great idea that killing important characters in dramatic fashion wasn’t just good entertainment, but good story-telling, so the fans could cray all they wanted, because, you know… ratings! Join us this week as we discuss some (but definitely not all) of the TV show character deaths that have made a lasting impact on us, the viewers. Grab you box of tissues, play some sad background music, and maybe even get some confetti poppers ready as we talk TV character deaths on a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
