First off, our apologies. No, really. Not the regular “apologies” we give you every week for producing our amazingly good/bad podcast, but for real and for true, sorry. Things were going great (depending which side of the fence you sit on) and then Matt had to go and bring it down. What a dick! Anyways, now that’s out of the way, it’s on with the show! From low-brow theology and anointed body parts to Wondercon and continuity issues, this show has enough to rub everyone the right and wrong way, simultaneously! Please note, we don’t fact check for shit, but that’s kind of the heart and soul of Useless Drivel – A Podcast Without a Point!
Due to unforseen circumstances, Useless Drivel has returned this week to bring you a whole new episode. While we are sure that the internet was extremely grateful to get a break last week due to those pesky job things that Robert and Matt have, it is with our deepest sympathies for your ears that we return. Screw paying bills and that whole responsibility thing, we have a podcast to do, so join us this week as we talk movies, floods, spy thrillers, and CNN? Hardly factual and possibly entertaining, it’s a new episode of Useless Drivel!
So, way, way, WAY back in Episode 8, we here at To-Ag Studios talked Heroes and Villains. Seeing as the Monkeys still had their podcasting training wheels on, we approached two very broad and interesting topics with the reckless abandon of Hulk and Wolverine on a bender. So now, 68 weeks later, we have reconvened our Monkey council in order to once again discuss the hero figure and why we love them. Draw down your cowls, make some therapy appointments, and get your butt out of retirement as were headed for round 2 to discuss Heroes (NOT the show) on a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
So back in the 80’s, before anyone here at To-Ag Studios had ever rolled up a character, delved into a dungeon, or put the beat down on some Monster Manual baddies, Dungeons & Dragons was getting a bad rap. You grognards out there are sure to remember the public outcries of Satanism and devil-worship, but now-a-days, with gaming becoming a touch more mainstream, such reactions are slightly less common (at least we’d like to hope so). However, we in the gaming community will always have the likes of Mazes and Monsters to contend with. Join us this week as we discuss our viewing of this crap-tastic, gamer-tainting Tom Hanks extravaganza! Dial in your sonar, stock up on your psyche meds, and prepare for the death of hope on a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
