I’m a humungous fan of the Tolkien universe, not just for the stories of middle earth that he created, but also because Tolkien’s world led to the fantasy genre where I spend an incredible amount of time indulging. I take great pleasure writing stories, playing games, reading, and imagining in the world of swords and sorcery. And along with many of my fellow Hobbit nerds, I could not wait to see The Hobbit. I would watch trailers for the film and be moved nearly to tears, I would read articles on the movie and revisit my Tolkien texts, and I busted out songs from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. I’ve made a huge mistake. It is currently 7:30pm on Thanksgiving and all I really want to do is pass out from a food coma, so from my procrastination comes a post that might just give you an idea into my psyche. I shall now regale you with some game ideas that I’ve had, but never put the time in to flesh them out due what I think might be a bad game for the group, or I just don’t see how the 1 trick pony is going to make it beyond the intro.
