Are Post-Apocalyptic Settings the Best Settings?

Well, it looks like I have to wait until February for The Walking Dead to come back, and as much as that’s going to suck, it does give my brain a chance to think on other end-of-the-world scenarios.  Pop-culture is bombarded with the “threat” of the Zombie Apocalypse, but having grown up in the tail end of the Cold War, I still remember how a very REAL apocalypse cast a very palpable shadow on the western world.  Post-apocalyptic settings are no strangers to a large group of gamers, but let’s take a look at what the end of the world as we know it has to offer!

A strange thing happened on the way to being a grown up.

I’ve played video games for most of my life, starting with the original NES back when I was 9 years old. It all started with the Nintendo Action Set which included the system, two controllers, the zapper, and a game cart which had Super Mario Bros and Duck Hunt. This was the beginning of a long journey of systems and games.
