It’s Friday, y’all, and we’re here to bring you a whole new podcast! Join your hosts The David, Robert, and Matt as they talk about the things you either want to hear about or are completely sick of hearing about! From gaming and Nazi punching to giant penises and and vagina posters, we’re covering the entire internet spectrum in this week’s show. Plug in and tune out, because the world has done lost it’s sh*t. It’s a brand new episode of Useless Drivel – A Podcast Without a Point!
This past weekend, our very own Paul “Thunder From Down Under” the Intern hopped on his kangaroo, braved an incursion of deadly drop bears, and g’day mate’d his way through the wild Australian Outback to celebrate pop culture, Aussie style! The southern hemispheres answer to SDCC, the Supanova Pop Culture Expo looks like it has every thing a geek could want, so we’ll let Paul share with you what he saw!
Let’s be honest. No matter how much you love comics, there’s no way you’ll ever be able to read them all. There’s just far too many and you’d have to sell pretty much all your organs on the black market to be able to afford them. So what I want to try and do with this article, which I hope to be able to do on a semi-regular basis, is to keep people up to date on some of the awesome comics out there so they can give them a shot themselves. Some will be new comics, some will be old comics, but all of them will be comics you should be reading.
Are you exhausted? Because we sure are! 2012 turned out be a geek’s best friend and it didn’t matter what your nerdgasm of choice was, either! Be it movies, gaming, television, comics, or whatever else, 2012 surely did deliver… and there are absolutely no signs that 2013 is going to do any less. Hell, it’s probably going to do more! Join us this week as we gather around the mics and discuss what “got our geek” the most in the past year. Prioritize your superheroes, stock up on convention passes, and be sure to try out a bit of the meatloaf as you settle in for a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
Well, we did it! We actually made it a full year – 52 weeks and 52 episodes – without killing one another, destroying our friendships, and offending and alienating the podcast masses! Join us this week as we not only take a look back at our first year, but discuss where we’re at and where the MITC crew is headed in year number two! Oh yeah, we’re also recapping Robert’s GMing rotation, chock full of Board-gamey and RPG goodness. So, settle in and take a listen as we go shout-out crazy and thank all of our listeners, supporters, and most of all each other for a great first year here at Monkey in the Cage!
One of my favorite things to do here on the site is feature independent artists. I think it’s important to support creativity in any way possible. Whether it be a simple compliment when something speaks to me, purchasing prints, or a small feature or shout-out here on the site, I try to do whatever I can to encourage people who follow their passion and put themselves out there. There is one particular designer/illustrator who is near and dear to us here at Monkey in the Cage…
