The summer blockbuster movie season has officially begun! Last week’s release of Iron Man 3 has already seen it reach the second highest opening take behind Avengers, but, as always, not everyone is impressed (such is the way of us geeks)! Join us this week as we discuss the movie, Robert Downey Jr., and all manner of geeky and Iron-y Man-y (yeah, it’s a thing) goodness. Charge up your Unibeam, polish up the Mark XLII Armor, and get ready for some holiday cheer as we talk Iron Man 3 on a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
2013 is only about a week old, so I feel it’s still young enough in the year to reflect on my personal top five gaming moments of the year past. 2012 was surely filled with plenty of gaming – from board games and video games to RPGs and podcasts – so I thought I should give a nod to those out there that made last year one of (if not THE) best years in gaming I’ve had. The following are in no particular order.
Zombies. Zombies, zombies, zombies. They are everywhere these days. They’re on your TV, they’re in your movie theater, they show up at little kids birthday parties (true story), but what is it that makes these mindless flesh-eating killing machines so appealing? Join us this week as we look at the zombie explosion that has taken over pop-culture like a … well, like a horde of zombies! Lock the doors, board up those windows, and remember you can drink the water from the toilet tank if you need to , as we talk Zombie-mania on a whole new episode of Monkey in the Cage.
That’s right boyz and gurlz! We’re keeping it real and bringing fro the hard hitting suburban streets of So Cal for this week’s pimptastic episode… or something… Join us this week as we bring you another “Uncaged” episode where we get wild and crazy and go top(ic)less for a full hour, just for you! We’ve got a little bit of everything for your geeky sensibilities, so lock and load, expect the unexpected, and definitely get ready for some brain frying craziness on a whole new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
Another Comic-Con has come and gone, and the Monkey in the Cage crew is WORN OUT! Even with back-up and thorough planning, tackling the awesomeness that descends on San Diego every year proved to be more challenging and rewarding than ever, and we weren’t even on the floor (legitimately)! Join us this week as we are once again joined by our favorite intern, Jared the Intern, and artist/illustrator extraordinaire Dennis Salvatier to recap all of our experiences outside of the convention center. Gas up the Batmobiles, throw back a couple of beers, and don’t let those zombies get you as we talk SDCC 2012 on a brand new episode of Monkey in the Cage!
So this week a release date trailer was hoisted upon the Internet by the kind folks at Gearbox Software. While everyone has known since Borderlands was released there would be a sequel, we finally have a date (in the far off future(Stupid September 18th, 2012)) to anxiously await more insane guns and claptrap one-liners.
Borderlands was one of those random games that I picked up on a lark, then had trouble putting it down once I got started. The only way I can describe the feeling of playing the game is that it is incredibly repetitive, but I can’t stop playing it, it is too much fun.
Gearbox has become one of the few developers that I will buy anything they produce (within reason). They consistently put out high quality products and go out of their way to show appreciation to their fans. How many companies would go out of their way to write a eulogy for a fan that died of cancer, then get one of their voice actors to recite the eulogy, and put put said fan in Borderlands 2?
Borderlands 2 will be a day one buy from me and hopefully there are a few other PS3 owners out there who would like to get together and destroy the inhabitants of Pandora with me.
