Reiner Knizia’s Tile-Laying Trilogy on iOS Part One: Through the Desert

This is the start of a three part series about board game designer Reiner Knizia’s tile-laying trilogy. Reiner Knizia is probably the most famous and prolific board game designer ever, having designed over four hundred games that include dice, card, board, auction, and mobile (iOS) games. In 1997 and 1998 he published three games, Tigris and Euphrates, Samurai, and Through the Desert, that all used a tile-laying mechanic. Though he does not consider them to be a trilogy, they are collectively known in the board game community as the Knizia tile-laying trilogy. Continue reading
