My “Gold Standard” of Fantasy Art

I know that last week I promised to take a look at Modern RPG settings, but I have to admit, it’s pretty late and I’m kinda phoning this post in, but for very good reasons!  We’ve spent this weekend finally getting to spend time with our elusive 5th member of the MITC Crew, Jared the Intern, as we prepare for this week’s San Diego Comic-Con.  So after two days of gaming, carousing, drinking, recording, and a whole lot of button making, I’m going to take a quick look at my favorite fantasy artist, Tony DiTerlizzi, in honor of the hard working folks camped out in Artist’s Alley down on the SDCC floor.

Denver Comic Con 2012

The event I have been waiting for has finally come and gone, Denver Comic Con 2012 was amazing. This was its inaugural year, and they rose to the challenge. I will have to admit that I haven’t been to a convention in four years, so I was even more excited just to be able to go to a convention, let alone one that turned out to be so great. Myself, my girlfriend, and a friend of hers, all had a great time at the convention, so I present to you a summary of the weekend and some of my experiences. If you would like a more detailed look at the event from my eyes, feel free to come visit my site:  thegeekpath.com.

Episode 14 – Convention Experiences with. . . The David

One of the best parts of a new year, besides failing miserably at your resolutions by the second week of January, is the start of a whole new convention season.  Whether you are rabidly anticipating the “Geek Mecca” that is San Diego Comic-Con or like to keep it low-key and hit up your local favorites, we here at the Podcast love conventions, large and small.  From awesome (to awesomely bad) cosplay to getting mad-dogged by The Incredible Hulk himself, Lou Ferrigno, hitting the convention circuit and reporting back to our listeners is definitely a top priority for the podcast monkeys this year.

Join us this week as we welcome our most seasoned Con-goer and close personal friend, The David from the Greenlandic Powerpop band The Maxies, as we recollect some highlights from convention trips past.  Grab your daily passes and stack up your swag while we dive into this week’s look at the convention experience.  It’s both chaotic and fun, just like the convention floor!
