Closing Song – Greased Lightning - performed by John Travolta

I will only admit this once… Breaking Away, American Flyers, and The Color of Money.
and as the wife and I were road tripping into the mountains today, I thought of one more… Legend, the one with Tim Curry as Satan. If we’re talking musicals? Brigadoon with Gene Kelly, and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
Legend is good times.
I don’t think you need to feel bad about Color of Money, a lot of horrible people like that 12 hour movie.
I can’t believe I forgot one of the greatest movies in all the history of cinema… Navy Seals.
How did no one mention GYMKATA?!?!? I make everyone watch it….
MOVIES:
Enchanted – I have watched this alone and rewound the part in the park when they sang “How Does She Know” a few times during every watch.
Music and Lyrics
Any Step Up movie
Love Actually – My wife and I watch it every year at Christmas
Any of the old JCVD Movies – right on Ramses!
Labyrinth – I believe there may have been a slightly embarrassing Twitter conversation recently regarding a song from this ha ha!
A League of Their Own – There’s no crying in baseball!
Major Payne
Heavyweights – Ben Stiller’s Best role (redone for Dodgeball)
Home Alone – True Story, in first grade I told a girl I was Kevin from Home Alone and she believed me. The reason? My name is Kevin obviously.
Escape from Witch Mountain – Old one, not new
Parent Trap – Again the old one with John Wayne
McClintock – Maybe I should just put John Wayne down as a Guilty Pleasure.
ANY Nicholas Cage movie – I mean it, I love him
Little Shop of Horrors – We had a TV in our family van with a VCR. For some reason we never had anything other than a taped version of this movie in the van, we never complained though.
Time Bandits
The Ernest movies make the list
Tremors
The Ten Commandments – Okay this is an amazing Oscar award winning film, so not really guilty pleasure territory, however some people my age and younger might be surprised that I watch the entire movie every Easter.
Any of the Rocky Movies – Especially Rocky 4. I even loved Rocky Balboa, made me cry man tears. My wife hated Rocky Balboa because she hated seeing Sly Stallone get beat up as an older guy.
Groundhog’s Day – Probably too good to be on a GP list but I have to watch it if it comes on TV and I’m flipping channels.
Zoolander
Almost Heroes – Panned by so many people but I love this movie.
Anything Muppets
What about Bob
Bicentennial Man
Waterworld – To this day my group of friends here in Missouri tell people that this is my favorite film, simply because I said I didn’t hate it one time.
Armagedeon – Oh Bruce… you brave, brave man.
All of the Die Hard movies – Yes even the newest one. I’m sure I’ll like it when he saves the world in the next one, when he then saves the galaxy, and finally when he saves the universe in it’s inevitable conclusion.
Almost every Kevin Smith movie – Can’t stand Cop Out (sorry Kev!) It’s good I like his movies because everyone always reference the fact we have the same name. Favorite Kevin Smith movie? Mallrats.
Some other items that make my list of Guilty Pleasures-
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic – I suppose you could call me a “Brony” if all it takes is liking the show, to be honest though I probably wouldn’t watch it if my daughter didn’t.
Goofy pop Music, it doesn’t matter the decade
All the Musicals – I am a Thespian from my high school days and at one time I was even a Musical Theatre Major in college.
Marching Band – I was in it in High School and some college. I played the Trombone. I will watch footage of awesome Marching bands. Oddly enough, not a fan of the movie Drumline though. I think it focused on all the wrong parts for me to find it interesting.
Older country music – I’m talking Merl Haggard, and Tom T. Hall kind of stuff. I grew up on it, my dad had KWRE (an AM station) on every morning before school *sings* “KWRE! Warrenton, Troy, Wentzville!” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CMxv7onpdCY
I read Young Adult Fiction all the time – I read the Twilight series and sometime I may write a post about how aggravating that entire experience was for me…
Anime – I watch all kinds of it good stuff and kindof crappy stuff too.
Alright I’m done even though I’m sure I have more (already thought of movies I left off the above list like how I like the latest Indiana Jones movie more than Temple of Doom)
Kevin! You really should have made this into a contributor article!
I LOVE Enchanted and now I have that song stuck in my head! So many great ones on your list! Dodgeball is really funny, “Nobody makes me bleed my own blood!” and Zoolander is one of my fave Ben Stiller movies.
You already know I loves me some Ponies and I love pop music too! =)
Wow, I have never heard of this Gymkata before, but it looks absolutely amazing. Thanks John.
