Drew: The Man Behind the Poster

A couple years ago I was lucky enough to stumble into a panel at Comic-Con about a documentary focusing on the poster artist for the original Star Wars trilogy. What I didn’t know at the time was that this artist had created the iconic posters for some of my favorite movies when I was a child, everything from Goonies to Back to the Future.

The reason I bring this up is that while the documentary is essentially done, they need more funding to be able to finish the film. The filmmakers have created an Indiegogo page( similar to Kickstarter ) asking for a mere $8,000 to continue their work. At the time of this writing they are at $7,275. If any of you have any extra cash laying around I implore you to throw a couple bucks at the film. From the small bits they showed at Comic-Con, this movie needs to be released.

Drew: The Man Behind the Poster has a who’s who of actors/directors/producers that have both worked with Drew and benefited from his art. From looking over a gallery of just a few of his posters you will realize how much his work has affected your movie going experience.

While I love Drew’s art, I believe the biggest reason I want this movie off the ground is because he just seems like a genuinely nice guy. When he was brought out on stage at Comic-Con he nearly cried due to the outpouring of emotion from the crowd, and this was mostly a crowd that had no idea who he was when they sat down. So please donate now and make this film a reality. If you don’t want to do it for me, at least do it for the children.
