Episode 31 – Failure in the Geek Game

Being a geek is an investment in time, money, and most importantly interest.  But what happens when the time isn’t available or the interest isn’t there?  With so many things to keep up on, past and present, it can often be difficult to stay on top of what-is-what and to be as informed and exposed as possible.  Join us this week as we reveal some of our personal shortcomings in geekdom.  Whether it’s geek-centric things we flat out don’t enjoy or haven’t had the pleasure of getting our hands on, we all come clean on our holes in the geek game.  Don’t be hatin’, but get your hate-mail ready (and remember to send it to Matt) after this week’s episode of Monkey in the Cage.

Some People Deserve To Die: God Bless America

When I was growing up one of my father’s favorite movies was Falling Down starring Michael Douglas. First Official “Prometheus” Clip now Online

If you are excited for Ridley Scott’s Prometheus (as you should be), then you will definitely want to check out the new official clip to hit the internet today.

Prometheus hits theaters June 8th, so if this clip isn’t enough to satisfy your nerd-lust, pick up some copies of the original Alien films to hold you over until then!

Rules Heavy vs. Rules Light – What’s a Player to do?

I’m only a week into my journey on improving myself as both a Player and a GM and I’ve already hit a major obstacle that requires time, patience, and a whole lot of brain power (that I’m not sure I have.)  I’ve mentioned before that I am a real nuts-and-bolts person when it comes to gaming, but in checking out a couple of new game systems and settings to prep for one-shots, I have come to a major realization:  I don’t know if I am rules-heavy or rules-light, and it is driving me INSANE!
